Volunteers in Medicine, Clinic of the Cascades (VIM Cascades) is a nonprofit, free clinic providing compassionate healthcare to low-income, uninsured adults in Central Oregon. Founded on the belief that everyone deserves access to quality medical care, regardless of income, VIM Cascades relies on a dedicated network of volunteer providers, staff, and community supporters to offer primary care, chronic disease management, mental health services, women’s health, and more—all at no cost to patients.
Serving Bend, Redmond, Sisters, Madras, La Pine, Prineville, and beyond, VIM Cascades helps bridge the gap for those who otherwise fall through the cracks—hardworking individuals who earn too much to qualify for Medicaid but too little to afford insurance. With a model built on dignity and collaboration, the clinic pairs patients with volunteer physicians, nurses, and specialists who donate their time and expertise. From routine check-ups to managing diabetes, hypertension, and mental health, VIM ensures that lack of insurance doesn’t mean lack of care.
Beyond medical treatment, VIM Cascades focuses on prevention, education, and holistic wellbeing, offering behavioral health support, nutritional guidance, and referrals to community resources. The clinic operates thanks to generous donors and volunteers—who give their skills, time, and financial support to uplift others.
