For 30 years, Volunteers in Medicine Hilton Head Island has been providing free health care on Hilton Head Island.
The relentless efforts of founder Dr. Jack McConnell have ensured that everyone in our community has access to free, compassionate, quality-driven health care.
Today, more than 550 volunteer physicians, nurses, dentists, social workers and lay volunteers provide an average of 28,000 patient visits each year. And, VIM Hilton Head Island serves as the flagship model for 88 free medical clinics across the country.
VIM’s protocols treat the symptoms, educate the patient in self-care and monitor the patient to maintain wellness. VIM offers family practice, internal medicine, as well as lab, x-ray and ultrasound services, pharmacy, mental health and dental care in a total of 23 medical specialties and five disease management clinics.
