En bordure de la Gironde, le vignoble de Saint-Estèphe s’étend sur 1250 ha de vignes en AOC, où coteaux et plateaux, alternent et offrent aux visiteurs une perspective unique. Ses croupes graveleuses bien drainées reposent sur un sous-sol argilo-calcaire. L'appellation compte : 5 Grands Crus Classés, une cinquantaine de Crus Bourgeois et 'hors classés' ainsi que 3 Cru Artisans.
La grande variété des terroirs et des crus permet aux vins de Saint-Estèphe de satisfaire tous les goûts grâce à leurs différences mais aussi à leur air de famille : de très riches tanins ronds et charnus leurs confèrent une belle couleur rouge sombre et une puissante structure avec une grande finesse aromatique.
Le caractère et la qualité du vin de Saint-Estèphe sont le résultat du « don de la terre et de la maîtrise des hommes ».
Along the Gironde riverbank, the Saint-Estèphe vineyards spread over 1250 ha. The rolling slopes and landscaped plateaus give visitors a unique perspective. The vineyard is planted on gravelly hillocks that are exceptionally well drained. This soil is also characterized by a clay and limestone subsoil that gives the wines their own personality. Saint-Estèphe offers: 5 Grands Crus Classés, 50 Crus Bourgeois and 'hors classés' and 3 Crus Artisans.
Such a variety of soil-types and wines allows Saint-Estèphe to satisfy all tastes, thanks both to their differences and their common qualities : a beautiful dark red colour, smooth and beautifully rich tannins, a powerful structure as well as a great aromatic subtlety.
