Since the Stone Age, wine is harvested and fermented by thousands of different grape varieties. But in the last 25 years, globalization has meant that now just eight grape varieties dominate the market. Hundreds of local grape varieties have been torn up to make way for these international grapes. This is a very sad development. With Vintro we wish to break unification and instead promote the remaining 1,400 grape varieties. Wine can offer so much variety of unknown and fun flavors. Together with all who love wine and dare to challenge and enrich their senses and expand their wine culture, we wish to present wines on grapes such as Pecorino, Furmint, Xinomavro… and at least 142 other varieties. In a globalized world where wine often is made with enzymes and commercial yeast more than of faith natural fermentation, Vintro is searching for the authentic taste experiences in Europe. On our path, we have met winemakers, hidden and forgotten grapes, traditions and different flavors that deserve your attention and each of our wine is chosen for its credibility and its place of origin.
