The VIPER™ Shield Rapid Deployment System was invented by Chad Martin, a seasoned police officer who began his career in 1998 in Lexington, KY, and currently serves just south of Cincinnati as a Chief of Police. Over the years, Chad has witnessed the evolving responsibilities of patrol officers, often requiring them to perform high-risk tactical operations without the specialized resources available to SWAT units. Recognizing the need for more protection than a bullet-resistant vest, Chad developed the VIPER™ Shield Rapid Deployment System to provide immediate, effective protection in critical situations.
