The past few years have seen an increased demand for online (remote) therapy, which has research to support its effectiveness. I continue to see it as a viable alternative to traditional in-office therapy, and the experience of my remote clients has been largely positive. Online sessions offer clients greater flexibility in scheduling while eliminating the time or expense related to traveling to a traditional office.
It is an amazingly easy and effective way of accessing mental health care by persons living in remote areas, students and business people with hectic or unpredictable work or travel schedules, as well as persons with medical or psychological/emotional conditions that make travel to a therapy office difficult, if not impossible.
