The short story of this initiative... VirtualPractices.org is a rapid response project set in motion by OvationLab, a firm that was formed by three executives with deep experience in the fields of functional and integrative medicine: Laurie Hofmann, former CEO and Chair of The Institute for Functional Medicine (IFM); Andie Crosby, the former Director of Marketing and Communications at IFM; and Tom Blue, the Director of Industry Strategy for IFM and a serial entrepreneur with a long-time focus on innovative approaches to healthcare delivery. In February 2020, it became clear that COVID-19 would pose a threat to functional and integrative practices and challenge them to quickly adapt to radically new circumstances in order to fully contribute their talent, training, and value through the course of the crisis. Upon announcing the project, the support and engagement of a broad community of experts, technologists, and business owners was immediate. And the efforts and contributions of this talented group is evident on the website. VirtualPractices.org is a free resource for practitioners that will also be made available to support the industry leaders that recognize the need to devote their staff and resources to assisting their practitioner clients as they navigate this crisis. The first financial supporter of the project was Calroy Health Sciences. While there is no cost to anyone for utilizing the resources being created and compiled here, we welcome other corporate contributors to help us accelerate and expand on this important work.
