Virtuelle Hochschule Bayern

Virtuelle Hochschule Bayern (vhb) / Bavarian Virtual University is a network of 36 member universities in Bavaria: 13 universities, 19 universities of applied sciences and four universities / academies of the arts. The vhb supports its member universities by promoting and funding needs-based online teaching programmes in order to improve teaching and study conditions and meet the growing demand for flexibility in terms of location and time. The vhb is well established in the Bavarian higher education system and is a stable partner for digital teaching. The vhb is a model that is unique in Europe. A variety of different digital learning/teaching programmes are made available across universities via the vhb. All formats are developed by professors at Bavarian universities and are subject to continuous quality assurance. CLASSIC vhb courses are designed to be credited towards a university degree programme at the member universities. They enable the acquisition of credit points (ECTS). Course participants are supervised by e-tutors. Students of the member universities can use these courses free of charge, regardless of their degree programme. Other people can take part for a fee. https://kurse.vhb.org OPEN vhb courses make university knowledge on a wide range of topics freely accessible to all interested parties. The courses can be completed at your own pace and usually provide a certificate of attendance after successfully completing tests. https://open.vhb.org SMART vhb are digital learning units for blended learning. They last around 45 minutes each and can be flexibly integrated into classroom teaching. Lecturers and students at the member universities can use the learning units. https://smart.vhb.org OER@vhb provides freely available educational materials - Open Educational Resources (OER) that have been created at Bavarian universities. https://oer.vhb.org
