Virtus Chambers

Virtus Chambers was founded in 2013 by Mr. Keith C. Scotland S.C. With its head office situated at 120A St. Vincent Street, Port of Spain, it is in the heart of the business district and in close proximity to all of the Courts in Port of Spain. The concept in the formation of Virtus Chambers was simply to provide clients with expert representation through a cadre of qualified, competent and experienced Attorneys at Law in various selected genres. The Chambers operates in the true manner of chambers in that each Attorney at Law operates their own individual private practice. Synergies are derived on the operational / administrative aspect of the business as well as through the access to the learnings and experience of the various members of Chambers. The operations of Chambers are dealt with by a Management Committee which consists of the Head of Chambers, the Practice Director and two (2) other members of Chambers. There is also a Pupilage Committee responsible for the intake of Inservice Trainees and Six (6) Month students from the Hugh Wooding Law School and elsewhere. Areas of Practice include: - Corporate / Commercial Law - Civil Litigation - Criminal Law - Taxation Law - Constitutional / Administrative Law - Industrial Relations / Employment Law - Conveyancing - Family Law - Immigration Law - Mediation / Arbitration / ADR - Non-Contentious Matters (probate; customs matters; licenses; incorporation of companies, etc.) Our practice spans the gamut of Courts including the Magistrates’ Court, High Court, Industrial Court and Court of Appeal as well as representation at Mediation, Arbitration, Disciplinary Tribunals, the Ministry of Labour, Service Commission, Equal Opportunities Commission, Tax Appeal Board and the Public Service Appeal Board.
