Virunga Biotech is a horticultural exporter based in Rwanda. We are GLOBALGAP certified in several vegetables, including green chili, okra, bitter gould, aubergine, french beans and Gherkins (pickled cucumber). Our mission is to become a viable agricultural community by promoting sustainable operations for small-scale farmers, while ensuring good agricultural practices and the required quality for our buyers. Our business centers on the modernization of small-scale agriculture and agro-processing, and mainly focuses on promoting the development of agribusinesses through contract farming. We have conducted numerous supervised field trials since 2017 on various horticultural produce using precision farming techniques. Based on these trials, we have successfully established required planting programs to engage out-growers based on seasonal demands for exporting produce to Europe, including France, Germany, Italy and the UK.
