Vishala came into being in 1989 to address the deprivation of women and children in communities. A study on the root causes for deprivation of women and children led to two key learnings in Vishala. Deprivation of basic needs and wants eliminates the much needed participation of people in their development. The manifestation of deprivation is transferred from one to the other on a hierarchical form. Those at the receiving end are women and children. It is our goal to help as many communities as possible.
