We're dedicated to promoting Independence as a premier destination for business, conventions, leisure travel, and special events.
Visit Independence is a non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation governed by a board of directors and supported by a passionate team. We serve as the tourism marketing engine for over 3,500 local businesses, with funding from public and private sources, including a portion of the City of Independence's 6.5% transient guest tax, levied on all hotel guests and short-term rentals within Independence.

Through strong public-private partnerships with local businesses, organizations, and the City of Independence, Visit Independence works to showcase our city's vibrant arts, culture, history, and entertainment. We aim to drive tourism, generate economic development, and attract investment. Our approach includes:
