Visser Contact Lens Practice specializes in medical contact lenses and was founded in 1977. Since its foundation, Visser Contact Lens Practice has specialized in VS scleral lens fitting. The VS scleral lens was designed by Rients Visser Sr. and developed further by his daughter, Esther-Simone Visser.
THESIS ON SCLERAL LENSES
In 2005, son Rients Visser and daughter Esther-Simone Visser took over the practice. Esther-Simone Visser also works as an optometrist at Visser Contactlenzen and completed her PhD with a study on scleral lenses. Her doctoral research led to the introduction of an entirely new scleral lens design, which provides new options for patients who have had a cornea transplant, for example.
