Visual Impact SA is the leading provider of Digital and High Definition broadcast solutions in Africa and productions originating from South Africa. Visual Impact SA does not only sell and rent out video cameras and cameras, but all the broadcasting equipment needed as well, whilst providing the personnel with the expertise to create solutions for clients. Visual Impact’s South African operations offers a complete post-production package, it services many European and U.S companies. One of our many advantages are the joint partnership with HDHUB as well as Mediahive. Our personnel have developed and participated in large and specialised reality projects such as Idols (East West & South Africa), The Block, The Apprentice, Survivor and Fear Factor series. Through these projects Visual Impact SA has proved its capacity to facilitate world-class quality projects. The first full length HD feature (completed in 2001) in Africa with the Visual Impact SA 24p camera also contributed to Visual Impact SA's reputation as the leader in Africa in digital cinematography. The entry of the HD feature "Promised Land" at the 2002 Cannes festival is an important milestone in Visual Impact’s investment in HD technology. This investment and capacity to provide digital equipment and broadcasting solutions was increased significantly by the purchase of Visual Impact SA by the Visual Impact Group. Through the Visual Impact Group's backing Visual Impact SA can now provide a wide range of broadcast solutions. Visual Impact SA employs two full time broadcast engineers and has personnel capable of manipulating camera menus on all the format cameras. Visual Impact SA’s on set digital grading personnel are used extensively on HD and Digital Betacam productions. This expertise is also vital in situations where digital formats are to be blown up to film, an area Visual Impact SA are leading the way in Africa.
