Vitruvio Virtual Museum

Vitruvio Virtual Museum - an embracing digital experience – is a virtual reality experience applied to architecture, art and design; you can visit what has not been built yet, or what would otherwise cannot be visited, experiencing an hyper realistic and fully immersive virtual reality. Vitruvio Virtual Museum applies to art the possibilities offered by virtual reality providing a series of services dedicated to museums. The project's mission is to assist museums with these purposes: - offer art lovers extremely immersive virtual reality experiences; - enable art to reach those who can not travel; - enlarge the boundaries and possibilities of art collections, displaying what can not be displayed in a traditional exhibition (for example: meeting an artist from the past, entering and walking inside a work of art); - study - in partnership with museum directors and curators - new languages for narrating and disseminating works of art and the spaces dedicated to them. By means of photo realistic real time 3D renderings, that guarantee perfection in every detail for maximum realism or abstraction, Vitruvio Virtual Museum allows a virtual reality immersion dedicated to art, living the experience of moving through space and time in an autonomous manner, actively and in an independent way, without following established directions: the user can decide how much time devotes to the visit and the contemplation of every single work of art, just like in regular exhibitions. Navigation through the virtual space takes place via a control system, that allows interaction with the surrounding environment: listen to voice-overs, watch movies, enter the works of art. Curators can influence the exhibitions’ spaces, deciding the set-up autonomously, re-creating a unique an original exhibition-artwork from time to time.
