About Vittshala-The Financial Literacy Cell of SRCC

Vittshala is a CCE initiative to spread the basics of financial education among financial illiterates. It was founded by a group of motivated teachers and students who wanted to make an impact through community outreach programmes. It aims at making communities equipped enough to manage financial resources and services effectively through community engagement, workshops, seminars and discussions. Inaugurated by Shri Arun Jaitley, Hon’ble Minister of Finance, Government of India on October 17, 2016, Vittshala aims to disseminate financial literacy to the underprivileged, marginalised and remote sections of the society. Under its aegis, various projects were undertaken since its inception with target sections being illiterates, urban and semi-urban labourers, villagers, manual scavengers, women, children etc. Under Vittshala's ambit, various projects and campaigns have been initiated with the aim of reaching out to the needy and equipping them with sufficient financial knowledge to lead a better life. Currently, we have undertaken two projects in Delhi NCR: Sahay and Asha & Umeed, and two outstation projects: Khushhali and Uttara.
