Developing engaging AR applications and games is often costly, technically complex, and energy inefficient. Many solutions drain battery life, have high maintenance costs, and struggle with user engagement and scalability. High development costs and technical barriers deter innovation. Many developers face frustration with AR apps that consume excessive power, offer poor user experiences, and lack standardization, leading to inconsistent and unsustainable solutions. Our patented light-based mobile-to-mobile communication technology, developed by two engineers from EPFL (a renowned Swiss polytechnic university), addresses these challenges. By using light to transmit messages and mobile cameras to decode them, we offer a more efficient and cost-effective AR solution. Our technology reduces development costs, enhances energy efficiency, and simplifies the AR creation process, making it accessible and scalable. Our PoC multiplayer game on iOS demonstrates the effectiveness of our approach, with an upcoming SDK to further empower developers.
