It all started at the beginning of the llast century. In 1917 Leo Persoon opened a small butcher's shop in Lisse, the Netherlands. Over the years, it grew to become a large meat processing factory with 180 employees. As well as this, Persoon now has a company in Germany and a sales office in Great Britain.

The drive of our company is called "flexible production". Persoon is a medium-sized company with shorter production lines than those of our competitors. As a result, we can correspond more rapidly and more easily to the desires of our customers. We can also produce in a very specialised and vital manner.
Bacon
Our bacon is produced by traditional methods to make it among the best in Europe. The back bacon is produced from the loin, mild cured and if requested smoked. With our eye for quality we are a large exporter to the UK market as well as our home market.
Streaky bacon
For streaks we use lean rindless bellies, which can be produced either unsmoked or smoked depending on requirements. We supply whole streaks for slicers, doubles for the deli counter and sliced retail slices for C A packs,for the wholesalers and distributors.

We have a great assortment of fresh and frozen meat, for example boneless bellies, trim with or without rind, (90-10/ 80-20/ 70-30), fat and shoulder trimmings plus breast bones, soft bones and tender loins..
