Vietnam Military Medical University

Vietnam Military Medical University is a leading medical center and one of the greatest scientific centers in Vietnam, occupying 2 missions: to educate medical and pharmaceutical officers from primary training to graduated and post-graduated grades; to do medical researches and to perform clinical treatment. Nowadays, VMMU includes two teaching hospitals, one Military Nursing Faculty; 11 functional offices; 20 departments of fundamental medicine, military medicine, general science, social science and humanities; 37 departments of clinical medicines and laboratories; 7 centers and 4 regiments of students’ managements. Over a passing period of 65 years, VMMU included a number of 44 professors, 159 associate professors, 14 people’s teachers, 31 honorable teachers, 19 people’s physicians, 146 honorable physicians, 10 leading experts. There is a number of 90.000 medical officials who have been trained from VMMU including: over 800 PhD students; 8.000 master students; over 25,000 medical doctors and pharmacists, 4 years nursing students, medical technique students, military medical and pharmaceutical reserve officers and over 55,000 medical and pharmaceutical staffs. VMMU has completed over 900 research projects and approximately 200 innovations from basic to national level. From 1996 up to now, VMMU continuously received honorable certificates from Ministry of Education and Training for its excellent achievements in student science research campaign. Being accompanied by 2 teaching hospitals and an IVF centre, VMMU become a big medical facility that hospitalizes a great number of injured and sick veterans and patients from all over the country. Recently, annual average numbers of cases with health check-up and hospital admission are 220,000 and 30,000 patients, respectively.
