The term “Voice Search Optimization”, VSO, will soon be as ubiquitous as Search Engine Optimization, SEO. “If you’re not taking voice search seriously, you’ll eventually have to — just make sure you do it before your competitors.” Shubham Singh, Manta Contributor - March 1, 2019 I spent the better part of 2018 researching and studying VSO to become one of the best Voice Search Optimizers in the country. I knew this was the new frontier in SEO back in July 2018 when Google began lowering the rankings on all websites that are not optimized for voice. Look at the facts: • 41% of adults (and 55% of teens) use voice search daily • 25% of searches done on a Windows 10 Desktop are by voice • Nearly 50% of all searches are by voice What’s driving this new trend? First, searching by voice is 3.7x faster than typing. Faster searches = faster answers. Second, voice is perfect for mobile searches. Nearly 60% of mobile searchers use voice search at least some of the time already. Third, voice search is more convenient. That’s probably why more than half of the people surveyed said they use voice search so they “don’t have to type”.
