At VoltLeaf, we developed a novel, sustainable energy storage device that replaces the metals in battery electrodes with economical, high-performance, commercial-scale carbon materials. We carefully engineer the structure of the carbon to exploit quantization effects at nanoscale to allow a substantial increase of electrons stored. This enables our pseudocapacitive battery to store as much energy as LIBs while all its other properties resemble ultracapacitors, including long cycle life and fast charging-discharging.
