About Voluntary Aid
ABOUT US Voluntary Aid and Development Organisation (VADO) is a non-profit volunteer resource hub dedicated to promoting volunteerism and creating a supportive ecosystem for empowering citizens through volunteering. With our operational base in Abuja, Nigeria, VADO works to improve linkages and strengthen support for volunteers by harnessing voluntary services for need-based initiatives towards driving social change and resourcefully improving lives. Our core programmatic areas focus on leveraging advocacy, capacity-building, partnerships, and digital solutions to drive a voluntary sector that thrives through the: 1. Labour Economy: By addressing local challenges through mobilizing volunteers for improved public service delivery, workforce engagement, and MSME support. 2. Market Economy: By building an ecosystem where volunteers can access economic relief through voucher-enabled social and charity markets. 3. Digital Economy: By leveraging the use of digital tools and civic tech platforms to strengthen local resourcing, productivity, and civic engagement with public institutions and the government. As an organisation committed to strengthening citizens’ participation in the co-creation, co-delivery, and co-utilization of public services and policies, we collaborate with stakeholders and partners, leveraging local expertise and resources towards achieving inclusive civic spaces for volunteers in communities and public institutions. VISION: A civil society where every citizen is empowered to operate within a freer, fairer and safer civic space through volunteering. MISSION: To drive a volunteer resource hub, with a cause to better lives, support public institutions and strengthen communities, through voluntary aid and development efforts. DRIVING PRINCIPLES: • Young People • Service Delivery • Open Engagement • Digital Innovation • Social Entrepreneurship LEGAL STATUS: Registered / Incorporated Trustees - CAC/IT/56697
