VRZ 99

The factory was founded in 1941 as a railway-carriage repair workshop. It main purpose was to perform average repairs of passenger and freight wagons. In 1983 was built the first workshop for repair and assembly of wheel-sets in Bulgaria. Up to the present moment Septemvri plant is the only enterprise in the country to produce and repair wheel-sets. On 24th June 1999 Vagonoremonten Zavod part of BDZ, became 100% private company VRZ-99 A.D. Septemvri with less than 300 workers, after successful privatization. In our days, close to 700 people, the plant has increased its yearly turnover more than 25 times.
