About VTVCare
About VTVCare: Funding Hope and Healing for Mass Violence Survivors VTVCare was born out of unimaginable tragedy, but it exists today to provide something essential: hope. We are a nonprofit movement dedicated to funding long-term medical and mental health care for survivors and families impacted by mass violence incidents. Our mission is simple yet profound—ensure that financial barriers never stand in the way of trauma-informed care, healing, and resilience for those who need it most. What We Do Every mass violence event creates waves of trauma that extend beyond the immediate victims to their families, friends, and communities. Survivors and their families face complex, ongoing challenges—physical injuries, PTSD, grief, and emotional trauma. These challenges don’t fade with time, and survivors often require long-term, specialized care that insurance may not fully cover. VTVCare steps in to fill this critical gap by funding essential trauma-related support services. Through our endowment fund, we’re committed to providing sustained assistance so survivors can access the care they need, whether therapy, medical treatments, or other crucial support. We believe that financial strain should never be an obstacle to recovery and that every survivor deserves a chance to heal with dignity and compassion. Our work is driven by empathy and experience. Founded by survivors and families from the Virginia Tech tragedy, VTVCare understands the healing journey firsthand. We’re not just an organization; we’re a community of individuals bound by a commitment to support one another and make a lasting impact on the lives of those affected by mass violence. We rely on the support of compassionate individuals, organizations, and corporate partners to sustain our mission. Whether through donations, partnerships, or simply sharing our message, every contribution helps us bring relief and hope to survivors across the nation.
