Vysion designs energy harvesting solutions to replace single use, non-recyclable, lithium batteries used to power remote monitoring equipment in the water distribution network. This alternative power source offers the following benefits over batteries: 1) Autonomy: No maintenance requirements for the entire lifespan, compared to frequent battery replacement. 2) Power: The energy harvester extracts power from the pipe flow at a minimal pressure drop, providing a reliable and plentiful power supply to monitoring equipment. If powered by batteries, the equipment must limit data acquisition to conserve battery life. 3) Sustainability: Designed for a circular economy, the device is dissembled, and most components are reused or recycled after service, compared to the harmful lifecycle of a lithium battery.
