VästKom was founded in 2001 and is a non-profit association with the four sub-regional municipal associations in Västra Götaland; Fyrbodal, the Gothenburg region, Skaraborg and the Borås region as members. The municipal associations in turn have the county's 49 municipalities as members. VästKom is the municipalities 'joint collaborative partner with a focus on welfare and regional development and will represent and coordinate the municipalities' interests at regional level. Tasks; • To represent the members in county-wide collaboration issues with the Västra Götaland region, other county bodies and government agencies • To assist the members in negotiations with the same body • To be responsible for following up and evaluating the principal changes that affect the municipalities • Together with the municipal federations, form a meeting place and create networks cooperation
