W2W Startup manufactures biodegradable sanitary napkins using agricultural waste for rural women. We aim to fight period poverty in India. We use Paddy Straw in our napkins which are otherwise burnt by farmers adding to the ever-increasing levels of pollution.
Even in the 21st century, only 12% of women in India have access to menstrual products. The other part go for unhygienic alternatives like rags, sand, ash, leaves among other unimaginable alternatives. They are not educated about menstraution and still consider it a taboo. The situation is at it's worse. Women considering it a taboo don't wish to consult another women about the problems they are going through. This leads to 60,000 cervical cancer deaths in India annually.
At W2W we will first create awareness through workshops and campaigns. Introduce our product to rural women which will then be manufactured bu them in factories set up in their villages. We will be providing women with employment opportunities and help them come out of period poverty.
