Wahdatouna SPNL (Social Peace Network for Lebanon)stands as Lebanon’s premier coalition, deeply committed to nurturing social peace, fostering dialogue, and empowering entities and individuals engaged in peacebuilding, conflict resolution, and enhancing social cohesion. Rooted in a vision dedicated to a united, diverse, just, and free Lebanon, Wahdatouna is a beacon of hope in a landscape often marred by division. It operates on the principle of cross-sectarian and regional inclusiveness, endeavoring to build a robust national network known as "تجمع وحدتنا خلاصنا." This network is instrumental in cultivating a culture of citizenship, reinforcing the principles of accountability in political, media, and public service spheres, restoring true democracy, and positively influencing key decision-makers across political, economic, social, and educational domains. Wahdatouna’s strategy encompasses a dual approach: engaging in political advocacy and energizing grassroots movements. By interacting directly with political actors, the coalition not only promotes conflict sensitivity but also inspires leadership towards enduring social peace. Its advocacy efforts are focused on raising awareness among policymakers about the dangers of hate speech and championing a tolerance agenda through established code of conduct guidelines. On the grassroots level, Wahdatouna is active in staging peace sit-ins and coordinating across various sectors, notably with peacebuilding and civil peace actors, which underscores its commitment to maintaining peace as a palpable topic in national discourse. The coalition is currently a dynamic ensemble of approximately 20 active organizations, with ambitions to double this engagement, fostering a collaborative environment that includes experts from environmental, legal, political, human rights, education, peacebuilding, and development sectors.
