I recently completed my first adventure for Walking the Walk - a 900km unassisted walk across India from Bekal, on India’s west coast, to the Bay of Bengal along the east coast. Warding off fatigue, injury, dehydration and encounters with wild animals I reached my final destination in 40 days pulling only a cart along with my possessions. I used the physical and emotional challenges of the walk to demonstrate a commitment to the significant challenge mental illness poses to young Australians.
So why an adventure of this magnitude?
I believe in the power of travel. Real Travel. I believe travel is a tool that every person can use to take control of their mental health. I believe it gives you the perspective needed to find strength in your individuality and the confidence to realise anything is possible.
My goal is to raise $50,000 to support beyondblue and raise awareness for mental health.
