Walking With Brandon

Walking With Brandon was co-founded by the Beack family after their son, Brandon, broke his neck after a gymnastics accident in 2012. After numerous fundraisers and months of therapy, Brandon was able to travel to America for a 6-week rehabilitation programme. After his return to South Africa, the Beack family wanted to continue the same level of rehabilitation, while partnering up with local practitioners. After much success, the therapy was made available to the public. Thus in 2015, the Walking With Brandon Foundation was founded. Our Therapy and Beyond Centre is a multi-disciplinary practise that offers advanced outpatient rehabilitation to all those with physical disabilities. One facility with biokinetics, physiotherapy, speech therapy, occupational therapy and much more. We aim to offer world-class rehabilitation at an affordable rate to ensure that everyone has access to the same level of therapy. Access to rehabilitation should be a right, not a privilege. Our Subsidy programme allows us to do that. We are able to subsidise a percentage of therapy costs for those from previously disadvantaged backgrounds, so they may also afford it. Our PeerSupport programme offers help and guidance to all those in need, as well as a platform where people with similar experiences can connect. With regular topic discussions with guest specialists, we educate all our members on anything related to health, wellness and disabilities. We empower persons with disabilities so they may better their quality of life.
