As a filmmaker, John has actively been involved in enabling disadvantaged people to find a place for themselves to improve on their situation.
John served as Vice Chair of the Directors Guild of Great Britain, which led the Lifetime Achievement Awards for both Sir Alan Parker and the late Stanley Kubrick.
