WAPCAS PLUS is a Ghanaian civil society and public health organization with over 28 years of experience delivering transformative programs that improve the lives of vulnerable and marginalized populations. Formerly known as the West Africa Program to Combat AIDS and STIs (WAPCAS), our evolution into WAPCAS PLUS represents a bold expansion beyond HIV and STI interventions into broader areas of health, education, economic empowerment, and human rights. Our vision is to contribute to a society where the vulnerable enjoy dignity, improved health, empowerment, and a fulfilling quality of life. Our mission is to enhance the well-being of vulnerable groups by delivering high-quality services in health, education, economic empowerment, human rights, and gender equality, while fostering innovative and sustainable change through capacity building, research, and strategic partnerships. We implement evidence-informed, community-led interventions across the following focus areas: - HIV, TB, and STI prevention and care - Harm reduction for people who use drugs - Sexual and reproductive health and rights - Mental health and psychosocial support - Gender equality and human rights advocacy - Economic empowerment and skills development - Virtual health outreach and digital innovation - Organizational capacity strengthening and research Through compassion, inclusion, and strategic engagement, WAPCAS PLUS continues to lead the way in breaking down barriers, building community resilience, and ensuring that no one is left behind in Ghana’s development journey.
