WARKA CENTER a nascent, independent and non-profit think tank, envisages Ethiopian professionals in unison spearheading wholistic deliberation and implementing evidence-based actions that help connect policymakers with the population and realize Ethiopian development, demonocracy, peace, and security. WARKA CENTER for Sustainable Development, Democracy, and Peace (WARKA CENTER) is an independent, national, non–profit, youth–focused and professionals–led civil society think tank. WARKA CENTER’s overarching objective is to enhance sustainable peace, development and democratic governance in Ethiopia by realizing the demographic, democratic and peace dividends of Ethiopian youth and professionals. WARKA CENTER provides an institutional framework for mainstreaming youth and gender issues, a unique opportunity for Ethiopian youth and professionals to own the discourse of policy formulation which would enable them both to voice their concerns and participate in the process of policy deliberation as well as public service delivery. It caters to create a deliberative platform for pursuing a public discourse that would not only inform the public but also influence policy–making. It serves as a center of excellence for evidence–based policy deliberation on the crosscutting issues, such as migration, peacebuilding, security, and development in Ethiopia.
