OSPI’s Inclusionary Practices Technical Assistance Network (IPTN) was formed to increase inclusionary practices for students with individualized education plans (IEPs) across Washington state. This network will continue to prioritize student access to core instruction and general education settings, with an additional focus on the inclusion of Black disabled students and/or students with disabilities who participate in the general education setting 0-39% of the school day (LRE 3). Under OPSI’s IPTN, Washington Education Association (WEA) is one of 14 organizations supporting these goals. WEA IPTN prioritizes comprehensive training for educators, school staff, parents, and service organizations. Experienced and current practitioners develop and deliver professional development initiatives, ensuring relevance and effectiveness. These practitioners include general educators, special education teachers, ESAs, paraeducators, administrators, family advocates, and community members. These trainings cater to diverse audiences, fostering a culture of inclusivity and equitable access to education for all. Join WEA IPTN’s mission to create a more inclusive educational landscape for Washington’s students. The Special Education Support Center (SESC) is an integral part of the WEA IPTN. The SESC serves as a centralized platform for resources, professional development opportunities, and support for all stakeholders invested in inclusive education.
