Washburne Culinary & Hospitality Institute

Washburne Culinary & Hospitality Institute is one of the oldest culinary schools in the nation. Headquartered at 63rd and Halsted on the campus of Kennedy-King College, Washburne marries the latest culinary techniques with hands-on experience to ensure that our graduates receive world-class culinary and hospitality training. The Washburne tradition produces graduates who are well-rounded individuals ready to work in Chicago’s most successful restaurants. The restaurants Sikia and Parrot Cage are both operated by Washburne. Sikia is a fully functioning dine-in restaurant that is staffed by Washburne culinary students. The Sikia curriculum allows students to gain hands-on experience both in the kitchen and front of house.
