Waspada Online (WOL) is a member of Waspada Group, a pioneer media organization based in North Sumatera, which has been publishing the daily newspaper Harian Waspada since 11 January 1947.
WOL was established on 22 June 1997 to meet the development and demands of the new cyber culture, particularly with the fast evolving era of the digital media.
Since being online, WOL has become the central news and information source on Medan and North Sumatra. WOL developed into the #1 online media source outside of Java achieving 30 million hits (February 2014) and over 34 thousand followers on Twitter as @waspadaonline.
