Wastepreneur.id is an incubator that focuses on empowering overlooked participants in the solid waste value chain in Indonesia. This includes actors such as waste pickers, waste banks and junk shops, who are categorized as part of the informal sector due to a lack of regulation by the Indonesian government. Despite this informal status, they play a crucial role as suppliers to the recycling industry. However, these individuals often operate inefficiently and ineffectively due to a lack of support and capacity building. As an incubator, we recognize that the gap in the waste value chain is not solely due to a lack of capital and technology, but also stems from a deficiency in the skills and knowledge of those managing it. We are committed to equipping these individuals with essential business knowledge and empowering them to improve their operations. By bridging these gaps through education and empowerment, we aim to enhance the overall efficiency and sustainability of the solid waste management ecosystem in Indonesia.
