Watani Al Emarat Foundation

Profile Watani is a social development programme that was launched on December 2, 2005 to promote the UAE national identity and practices of good citizenship within the UAE’s diverse and multicultural society. The programme organizes and implements various educational, entertainment, sports and media activities that are directed towards the youth, women and children. The activities and campaigns organized by Watani are carried out by a number of volunteers and public interest advocates in the UAE. Watani works in parallel with other successful national initiatives to enhance the social values and culture of the UAE community. ---- Vision To contribute to the development of the country through promoting the practice of good citizenship by all nationals and residents in the UAE. ---- Mission To enhance national identity and belonging through good citizenship practices and a strong civic culture based on the UAE’s educational and cultural values and the teachings of Islam and to become the main platform for all private and public initiatives aimed at strengthening good citizenship practices.
