Water Spike

WATER SPIKE est un collecteur d’eau innovant et économique. Inspiré du fonctionnement du cactus, il capte l’humidité de l’air ambiant : l’eau contenue s’accumule à la pointe de ses épines artificielles par condensation. Lorsqu’elle atteint un poids suffisant, la goutte est guidée vers un collecteur grâce à un quadrillage hydrophile permettant de limiter les frottements et donc l’évaporation. De taille modulable, facile à fabriquer (une simple imprimante 3D suffit) à monter et à transporter, WATER SPIKE peut s’adapter aux besoins de différentes régions du monde. WATER SPIKE est un projet mené par 4 étudiants de l'ESTP Paris. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- WATER SPIKE is an innovative and economical water collector. Inspired by the operation of the cactus, it captures the humidity of the ambient air: the water contained accumulates at the tip of its artificial spines by condensation. When it reaches a sufficient weight, the drop is guided to a collector thanks to a hydrophilic grid to limit friction and therefore evaporation. Modular in size, easy to manufacture (a simple 3D printer is enough) to mount and transport, WATER SPIKE can adapt to the needs of different regions of the world. WATER SPIKE is a project led by 4 students from ESTP Paris.
