The University of Waterloo Steel Bridge Design Team is a collection of students passionate about the engineering design process. The team provides students the opportunity to apply knowledge learned in both the classroom and the workplace to a unique design challenge. Students also gain hands-on experiences with all stages of structural steel design, from design to fabrication and ultimately construction of the bridge structure.
Annual competitions are held in Canada and the United States (organised by CISC and AISC respectively), and the University of Waterloo's team has participated in both since 2014.
