Western Aim Venture Capital is the first entirely student-owned and operated venture capital fund in Western Canada. Through our early-stage funding opportunities, we are committed to building the entrepreneurship ecosystem in Alberta. Recognizing the difficulties many entrepreneurs, especially students and recent graduates, have with obtaining early funding, WAV Capital fills the gap of micro-funding for Alberta-based startups. WAV allocates a portion of its funds to student startups and is committed to hiring students, providing a platform for them to engage in experiential learning opportunities in Alberta’s startup and venture capital communities.
WAV Capital aims to reduce barriers for Alberta students to enter the venture capital industry while helping to develop Alberta's startup ecosystem. We foster high potential student-run startups and bring them to investor attention.
