Water for Welfare, Security and Peace (WAWE) programme aims to provide sustainable, just and science-based solutions to govern freshwater and marine environment and enhance water security and safety.
The WAWE programme brings together seven universities, seven research institutes and one think tank. Together, we will produce high quality water-related research to support policy making, taking into account and involving the different stakeholders in society. The Strategic Research Council (STN) is funding five research projects under the programme with 14.6 million euros in years 2024-2030.
