Located in the heart of downtown Austin on the fourth floor of the Thompson and tommie hotels, Wax Myrtle’s includes an expansive indoor bar and dining room, and an outdoor patio bar, pool and pool deck. Featuring a beverage menu of fun, crushable drinks paired with shareable food items that offer Southern Californian takes on bold West Texan flavors, Wax Myrtle’s offers a lush, sociable setting where the pool is cool, the vibes are right, and the good times are endless. Led by Executive Chef Nick Erven (Aba, Perla’s), Wax Myrtle’s menu of Baja-meets-Lone Star offerings are inspired by Erven’s early career working in Southern California, and in his current home of Texas. Erven works alongside Chef de Cuisine Shandon Bryant (Al Fico, Elle’s Café) who grew up in the industry at his father’s seafood restaurant on the idyllic California coast. Together, they create menus that draw on the heat of the desert, with an emphasis on chilled seafood, coastal classics, fresh vegetables and superior meats – all seasonal, all shareable. Evoking memories made over vacations past, the menu suits any occasion, be it a poolside cabana or a feast with friends. Accompanying Wax Myrtle’s shareable food offerings, the beverage menus feature vacation-ready cocktails, in formats large (!) and small, alongside refreshing and natural wines, a wide selection of familiar and local beers, and an innovative non-alcoholic drink program, all catered towards gatherings of every size.
