Wayne County Casa

Wayne County Casa company information, Employees & Contact Information

Wayne County CASA recruits, screens, trains, and supervises volunteer advocates to speak up for children who have experienced abuse and neglect. Our volunteers are appointed by jurists (judges and referees) in the Wayne County Third Circuit Court Juvenile & Family division, abuse and neglect docket. Our specially trained volunteers strive to become a positive, stable influence for Wayne County Children, while ensuring they have a voice in and out of Court, for a stable future. The goal of the Wayne County CASA program is to advocate for what is best for each child, and to see that every effort is made to reunify families when possible. When reunification is not possible, it is also our goal to ensure that each child is placed in a home that offers stability, permanency, and a nurturing environment. Wayne County CASA has been serving children in the Third Circuit Judicial Court for 25 years as a court-based program. In 2022, Wayne County CASA transitioned to its own nonprofit in order to grow the program and serve more children in need. With the Court’s support, we are now operating as a stand-alone 501(c)(3). Wayne County CASA is a member of the National CASA/GAL Association and Michigan CASA Association.
