Yesterday we released the second single and title track off of Gwenifer Raymond's forthcoming album 'Last Night I Heard The Dog Star Bark.'
Gwenifer's album is already starting to see fantastic early reviews in advance of the September 5 release date. She has a very busy European tour schedule for the fall, followed by dates we've booked for her in Canada and the Eastern US. She'll visit Western Canada/US, and Midwest in March 2026.
Northern Transmissions states of the title track "it’s a wobbly, folksy finger-picking guitar melody that’s as crispy as it is intricate."
Drawing inspiration from her recent tours with Lankum, she began experimenting with texture and applying it to her own guitar playing. She also aims to channel some of her own Welsh heritage, looking to connect the earthniness of the woodland landscape and its mythological origins to the stars that shine above it.
One of the best guitarists that I know, Gwenifer is also an astrophysicist. What a cool resume.
