The Water, Energy, and Environmental Engineering research unit is located at the University of Oulu, Finland. The WE3 research unit carries out high-class research in the field of environmental technology, with a focus on water and energy.
We study hydrological process in watersheds, water quality & microbiological solutions for water treatment and protection. In urban areas, our research offers safe and sustainable solutions to water, wastewater, and energy supply.
The WE3 unit employs about 80 persons, most of whom belong to research and teaching staff.
