New and old moulds benefit from using wear plate technology
New moulds
For new moulds, the settings will be correct from day one so the mould will have a longer life span due to less stress from the beginning
Old moulds
Old worn moulds usually will have the highest scrap rate and downtime. With wear plate technology it will give new life to an old mould re-setting it to its original way of running
Makes moulds/components concentric to less than 20 microns
Shorts
Flash
With high concentricity shorts and flash are reduced due to even fill
Burn marks
With high concentricity and less pre-load, the mould will need less tonnage helping the mould to vent and reducing gas/burn marks
Core shift
Most thin wall products will have core deflection, with the use of wearplatetech you can control which way the core deflects with a subtle change to the wear plates
Mould wear
With high concentricity, you will have less tonnage, less pre-load and less flash which all helps with mould deterioration
No more shim
Shim is a quick answer to putting a core concentric but it never lasts especially if a 10-micron shim is used
It lasts for a long time
Once the plates are set the mould will stay concentric until the mould has worn then its a simple adjustment to rectify

The set-up time takes less than 30 minutes once trained and is easy to adjust with little tooling knowledge
Top load strength
Top load strength is dependent on having side walls that are equal to each other, with wear plate technology all side walls are almost identical in size
IMM condition setting
If a mould is eccentric the machine conditions will be set to compensate for the eccentricity with wear plate technology the mould will be set to have optimal machine settings
