#WECAN

Welcome to #WECAN, a community where we support, champion, and connect women in leadership. Who are we? Led by Leeds Beckett University, the #WECAN Network is a community of women, businesses and supporting organisations. What do we do? To put it simply - we support, champion and connect women in leadership. We support you by developing your leadership skills and confidence. We champion you by celebrating your successes and amplifying your voices. We connect you with other women, businesses, and available support. Why get involved? The #WECAN Network gives you access to a supportive community of women, businesses and supporting organisations alongside: • Knowledge, expertise, and talent at Leeds Beckett University and our partners • Workshops hosted by leadership development specialists • Opportunities to connect at networking and co-working days bespoke to you • The latest news, opportunities, and tailored resources It is free to access our community, events and support. How did we start? #WECAN (women empowered through coaching and networking) initially started as a three year project part funded by the European Social Fund. Led by Leeds Beckett University and working in partnership with Edge Hill University and SEYH (Social Enterprise Yorkshire and Humber) the project was designed to build the leadership skills, capabilities, and opportunities of women in the Leeds City Region. From 2021-2023, #WECAN provided fully funded leadership and management support and training in the form of accredited ILM qualifications, leadership development workshops, and events. Over 900 women from over 500 SMEs, charities and social enterprises accessed our support joining the #WECAN community. Whilst the project came to an end officially in December 2023, we continue to support our community.
