How did we start?
#WECAN (women empowered through coaching and networking) initially started as a three year project part funded by the European Social Fund.
Led by Leeds Beckett University and working in partnership with Edge Hill University and SEYH (Social Enterprise Yorkshire and Humber) the project was designed to build the leadership skills, capabilities, and opportunities of women in the Leeds City Region.
From 2021-2023, #WECAN provided fully funded leadership and management support and training in the form of accredited ILM qualifications, leadership development workshops, and events. Over 900 women from over 500 SMEs, charities and social enterprises accessed our support joining the #WECAN community.
Whilst the project came to an end officially in December 2023, we continue to support our community.
