About Wefood - Danmarks første butik med overskudsmad

Danes throw away about 700,000 tonnes of food every year. At the same time people are starving elsewhere in the world. WeFood's aim is to minimize food waste and at the same time make a difference for some of the world's poorest. Our aim is to sell surplus produce at prices 30-50 % cheaper than normal supermarkets. We have agreements with a wide range of supermarket chains and volunteers from Wefood are collecting the surplus produce on a daily basis. WeFood is opened by Danish NGO DanishChurchAid (DCA). The economic surplus from WeFood will be included in DCA's developing projects in Africa, Asia and the Middle East.
