WELLSALUS PREVENTION = WELLBEING = PRODUCTIVITY It is through this equation that the idea of a new “service” for businesses and the community has been born. In Europe, the prevention and monitoring of the state of health of its citizens suffers from the lack of an adequate service. This has direct and negative consequences for the citizens and on their productivity in the workplace. Today in Europe the service of the check and evaluation of one’s own state of health is not readily available and if so it comes with costs both in time and money. The consequence is that many people renounce to get this type of prevention and so neglect their own state of health and the possibility to combat the onset of chronic illnesses. From one side there is a strong push from the European Public Sanitary System to put into place this prevention as well as the promotion of a careful and mature society in terms of prevention and wellbeing; from the other side the adequate and suitable structures are missing that would make this service available. European businesses have, in this sense, a great opportunity to take advantage of this “vacuum” because the productivity of the work-force depends heavily on prevention, on the maintenance of good health and therefore, in general, the wellbeing of their own workers.
